ALESSANDRO BERTONI
Alessandro Bertoni is an American resident-Italian native keyboardist.
He hails from Treviso, Italy, where he took up classical piano at the Conservatory at an early age, received his diploma there, and moved onto contemporary music studies. He is now based in Los Angeles where it works as a studio and live session keyboardist, songwriter, producer and music instructor.
His musical style can be defined as intense and heavy progressive rock blended with sophisticated and fusionesque elements. He is influenced by many diverse musical styles ranging from 70s progressive rock, classic/hard rock, technical metal, rock-blues as well as fusion and classical.
He considers himself a guitar-oriented keyboardist, and cites his main influences as Jon Lord, Keith Emerson, Derek Sherinian, Jan Hammer, Jens Johansson, Jeff Beck, Eddie Van Halen, Allan Holdsworth, Brett Garsed, Yngwie Malmsteen, Jake E Lee, Randy Rhoads, Richie Blackmore.
Keyboardist and co-founder of the Italian prog-fusion band Aphelion with whom he released “Franticode” in 2008.
In 2013 he released his debut solo album “Keystone” produced by keyboard guru Derek Sherinian and published by Generation Prog Records. “Keystone” includes performances by such luminaries as guitarist Brett Garsed, bassist Ric Fierabracci, and drummer Virgil Donati.
In 2019 he published an EP called “Monarkeys” feturing Craig Blundell, Ric Fierabracci, Andre Nieri, which serves as a precursor to his next full length album currently in the works.
He also frequently performs live with various rock, pop, metal, fusion bands and artists in the industry as a hired musician.
Alessandro has collaborated on dozens of albums for artists from all over the world as session keyboardist and producer/co-writer and and performed alongside some of the greatest names in the field including Ron ‘Bumblefoot” Thal, Joel Hoekstra, Craig Blundell, Ric Fierabracci,
